It All Began When Life Turned Upside Down!

my8dayweek was established in 2012. At that time, the heart of the brand was captioned in three carefully selected words:

TUTORING
COACHING
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Officially launched in 2021, these three words still carry weight today as
we begin a Brand New Season.

High 5s! Bring it on!

It’s not hard to decide what you want your life to be about. What’s hard is, literally figuring out what you’re willing to give up in order to do the things you are passionate about.

I’m not going to lie, but making peace with the past was not an easy task.

To talk about it lightly, I call it - The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

We are enthusiastic about our online and offline community that are…
sassy (“spirited, confident and lively”), enterprising and daring to dream of an even better tomorrrow.

Whether engaging in meaningful conversations, what to do midweek or midnight or which book, news source or podcast to check out, we are constantly on the lookout for activities, projects and engagements, linked with the hustle and bustle of a rich and meaningful life.

We believe in:

Making each day count
Leaving a legacy
Working in our flow
Passion + purpose over profit

We're not about:

Wasting time and resources
Gossiping, nagging, whinging
Tech overwhelm or overload
Labelling or getting caught up in misinformation

The Backstory

We are a go-to hub for *Friends to Besties* to connect, get inspired and collectively discover life, and life abundantly! With a new wave of global members, we aim to extend our message beyond our city and nation, and welcome girlfriends from other parts of the world.

My8dayweek Community

It was a rollercoaster ride that I just had to get off!
“If you ever lose yourself … reinvent yourself …”
The first significant phase of my life (the first half, literally) was riddled with poor “mind management” and a whirlpool of “backward thinking.” It wasn’t my backward thinking but rather the pool of people that made up my core support team whom I was leaning on for professional support and advice.

''No finger-pointing here''; but in hindsight, most of the pain, mental anguish and suffering was avoidable.

And as painful as it was, that was a bitter pill I had to consequently swallow, and let it be part and parcel of my life.

So, for many years (decades, in fact) I was doing the mundane; living like it was 1973 when everything was so unbelievably pointless, disrupting and yes, at times, crazy.

However, slowly but surely I became aware that there was absolutely no need to be caught up in persistent nightmares, battling life in a downward spiral, enduring seasons of “amazement”, and, wasting weeks and months on recovery, time and time again.

Colourful stories that define who we are deep down inside and what we truly stand for and believe
Meanwhile, God, rich in mercy because of His great love for us, was orchestrating a fresh new beginning for me to step into; a world where love and the revelation of His truth and purpose is bigger and greater than anything!

At the time that I was caught in a time-warp, (which I found out was 30 or more years behind), a new paradigm was being rewritten, and, what lies ahead for me was unbelievably a book, a blog post or a podcast away…!

Flip the Script

As I embrace my personal story of the past, and share pearls of wisdom and revelations about my life, I have gratifyingly rediscovered my my8dayweek mojo.

Not too long after, I halted the rollercoaster ride and launched this website. And, from humble beginnings I planned and created my podcast “Let’s Talk B.O.S.S.!” And then, in a space of 6 months, I planned and organised my wedding (while in and out of Melbourne’s infamous lockdowns). At the same time, I searched, found and purchased a beautiful home with my now-hubby, and put together a creative team at my8dayweek, remodelling it into a company in July 2021.

Armed with the knowledge and experience, I have managed to ‘collapse’ time and teach people how to *Invent Your Own Time Machine.*

Specifically created for Female Entrepreneurs and Female Business Owners, I unpack proven methods on how to turn productivity into profits using The Time Hacker Method™.

HOW TO: Make Time, Save Time, & Multiply Time

Now, I aim to be the person who is in sync with *The Times* - and not being caught up again in half-truths. I am conscious of how distressing it can be, to go through the pain, misery, and suffering, though it’s sometimes comforting to hear people say that having to go through hardship builds character.

No matter what, I do not wish this hardship to befall anyone - which is why I believe we ALL can rebuild and also Reinvent One’s Life Story.

As a qualified and experienced educator, and having navigated the educational ecosystem for over 14 years, I am fuelled to accomplish this Life’s Assignment.

I wake up each morning feeling refreshed and alert, with a heart full of gratitude, and a passion to pursue projects and activities that I fully take great pleasure in.

My perception is that, through life’s experience we can learn and make the most out of difficult situations, or unusual problems that are real, raw and relevant.

There is no need to overcomplicate life.
There is no need to be confused about our priorities.
There is no need to suffer in silence.
There is no need to be ignorant.
There is no need to remain “stuck” or live in the past.
There is no need to think highly of mainstream ideologies.

Being resourceful, we are able to visualise the potential in things that others might consider hopeless or purposeless.
Being educated, we are well-informed, closely connected and can become the best version of ourselves #OnRepeat.

And by making peace with the past, we are able to move forward and make decisions for our future endeavours without the Cookie Cutter Mentality. When we are equipped and ready, we can step boldly into our own Life’s Assignments.

Are you ready for your #NextLevel?

I’m here to help and guide you, and to introduce you to purposeful resources.

My aim is to:

Discover and Work on Your Strengths
Build Resilience
Keep your Mind and Body Healthy
Set Realistic and Practical Goals
Help you Manage Your Finances
Teach proven Hacks, Tips, Tricks and Tools

Along my journey, I am so blessed to come to know, meet and learn from some of the best thought leaders around, people like Dr. Caroline Leaf, Marie Forleo, Robert Kiyosaki, Lisa Messenger, Amy Porterfield, Jenna Kutcher, Roger Hamilton and so forth. They are the ones whose expertise, ideas, and views are highly respected, influential, and aspirational.

They open our minds to new ways of thinking, and they provide insightful solutions to complex problems.

Together, this mix of truths and wise teachings truly give us the keys to live a purpose-driven life.

Meet up

Meetup (www.meetup.com) is a social networking site that allows you to find and join groups related to your own personal interests. However, instead of just talking about these interests online (from your laptop lifestyle), Meetup is used to organise online and (better still) in-person meetings in your area.

At my8dayweek we have 3 groups that we manage, all based in Melbourne, Australia. However, from time-to-time there are events that are 100% online and therefore can definitely cater to our international audience as well.

Over the years we have run Events, including:
* Unpacking our Coffee Cafe Culture
* Workshops on Branding, Marketing and Mentoring
* Art Exhibitions + Markets
* Movie Outings + Jazz Nights + Karaoke Sessions
* Fashion shows, festivals and MUCH, MUCH MORE!

FAQ

What is the meaning of my8dayweek?

At my8dayweek we embrace being multi-passionate and making every day count for something special.

The infinity symbol, a figure eight on its side, signifies the concept of limitlessness or eternity, especially as used notationally in mathematics and metaphorically with respect to love.

8 is the luckiest number in Chinese culture because 八 sounds like 發 (fa), which means "wealth", "fortune" and "prosper" in Chinese. Multiples of eight are even better as 88 bears a resemblance to 囍 (shuāng xǐ), or "double happiness".

In dance, a measure is usually “musically paired” with a second measure. These two measures equal a total of 8 counts, which is why dancers count in sets of 8. One set of 8 is like a sentence.

Furthermore, without giving away too much, Stephanie (my8dayweek’s founder) has many 8’s in her birthdate. How blessed, ya-huh!

There are 7 days in a week; Why have you added an extra day in my8dayweek?

The extra day begs the question:

What would you do with an extra day in the week (all to yourself, with no one else’s agenda to worry about)?

The answer reveals a lot about one’s true passion and interests, revealing how you wish to spend the most precious asset you have - time.

How is my8dayweek linked to the Meetup girls groups?

We run and manage three Meetups in total:

* Melbourne Girls in the City
* Friends to Besties
* Business Besties

Almost all of our events are listed on the Meetup platform. This is the main platform we use to share the latest information relating to Things to See and Do.

For ticketed events we use Humantix.

How do I join your Meetup girls groups?

The following links will ensure you can set up your profile on Meetup and join our girls groups, pronto! (Please take note that Friends to Besties and Business Besties are open to our international audience.)
